COPE hosted the Somali Agricultural Regulatory Inspection Services (SARIS) from 24th and 25th May, 2022 at KEPHIS Headquarters, KEPHIS plant Quarantine Station and KEPHIS Plant Inspection Unit in JKIA. The purpose of the visit is in order to fulfil its mandate effectively and efficiently, it must adopt regulatory and inspection approaches based on regional and international best practices. This necessitates learning from similar competent authorities in the region, as well as partnerships with the relevant agricultural service organizations to gain a good understanding of the relevant legal and administrative framework and build the necessary technical capabilities respectively.
